A short guide
How I would use this on a real trip
I got tired of the group chat where everyone remembers a different total. This Saran Infotech note is the one I wish I had opened on the first night: who is here, what we paid, and who should settle before we go home. Nothing is stored on a server. The browser on your phone holds the trip, and the link is how it travels.
Step 1
Name the trip
Start with a name you would say out loud. Goa, the wedding week, the trek. You can add dates and a currency if you want. The moment you create it, you are already on the trip, so you never have to add yourself.
Step 2
Bring your friends in
On the trip, type a name and press Add. No email, no invite code. If you have saved someone before, their name sits there as a small chip and one tap puts them on this trip. The Friends page is the same idea, for people you travel with again and again.
Step 3
Write down what was paid
When the bill comes, add an expense. Say what it was, how much, and who paid. A remark is there if the number needs a little story, like “included the cab back”, and you can leave it blank. Everyone selected splits it equally. If the split was uneven, open Split differently and say so.
Step 4
See who should pay
The trip keeps the total and your balance in one place. Under that is the short list I always wanted on paper: who should pay you, and who you still owe. You can record a payment when the money actually moves.
Step 5
Share the page you are on
Tap Share trip. That sends the link in the address bar. A friend who opens it sees the same people, the same expenses, and the same remarks. If you add something later, share the link again so they get the newer page.
One thing I want you to remember: the link is a copy of the trip at the moment you share it. It does not update on your friend’s phone by itself. Share it again after a new expense. If you clear this browser, the trips saved here go with it, so share before you wipe the phone.
